2020 Golden Globes

2020 Golden Globes

As the first big award show of 2020, the 77th Golden Globes kicked off the season with Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" snagging trophies for Best Musical/Comedy, Supporting Actor, and Screenplay. Defying host Ricky Gervais' direction to exclude politics for the evening, winners Michelle Williams, Patricia Arquette, and others, called for renewed attention to concerns over President Trump, climate change, abortion rights, and representation. With a nominees list criticized for its lack of gender and racial diversity, actress Awkwafina still made history as the first Asian American to win Best Actress in a Movie Comedy/Musical.
